John Dearness School

Flynn crew are committed to ensuring the next generation of bright young people have safe facilities for continuing their education. As part of this work, the London branch replaced roof sections for John Dearness Public School in the Thames Valley District School Board in London, Ontario.

The project involves the complete replacement of roof sections A and D – approximately 37 squares. The new roof system to be a cold applied Tremco 3 ply BUR roof.

Existing roof compositions include:

  • Roof A at 3,550 sq. ft. using a cold applied BUR, asphalt and gravel, 4 ply organic felt, 2″ fibreglass and metal deck.
  • Roof D at 200 sq. ft. using 3/8″ gravel, BUR – 4 ply organic felt (hot applied), 1 ply organic felt (mech fastened), and plywood deck.

Danny and his crew completed this project on time in July 2019 and moved on to three other school projects. Thank you to Danny and the crew. Well done, everyone.

Hillcrest Public School

Foreman Rui Medeiros and his crew completed a re-roofing project for the Lambeth County School just outside London, Ontario. The crew completed their work on schedule in time before the kids returned.

The scope of work at Lambeth included a 24,100 sq. ft. roof replacement with 6mil polyethylene vapour barrier on main roof and canopies, self-adhering vapour barrier on the gym roof, two layers of 3″ polyisocyanurate insulation mechanically fastened on the main roof and fully adhered on the gym roof.

The canopies received one layer of mechanically fastened 2″ polyisocyanurate insulation. Finally, a 60mil PVC membrane was mechanically fastened on the main roof and canopies, and fully adhered on the gym roof.
