The Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre at the Michael Garron Hospital will feature 218 medical and surgical beds, more accessible outpatient programs and modern infrastructure that will accommodate new technology. It will also include improved infection control by increasing the number of single rooms and units that can be converted to isolate patients in case of an outbreak.

The scope of the project includes 63,000 SF of panels, 17,000 SF of metal siding and 9,000 SF of metal roof. The entire project has been quite difficult due to the importance of the project and the COVID protocols. The work on the hospital is critical to our efforts against COVID and the safety measures are strict. There is an onsite testing center offering testing to any worker with a 24-36 hour turn around. Plus, there is mandatory testing twice a week for all workers.

There is no doubt that our frontline workers are heroes and deserving of recognition during this very difficult time. But without the support of our hardworking crews building and maintaining these medical facilities the situation would be much worse. That is why we wanted to ensure they get this recognition for their contribution in the effort against COVID.

Thank you to our crews from everyone at Flynn, we all greatly appreciate it.
