Four construction workers on roof

It may be a salt mine, but Flynn London has a sweet job going on the Goderich Salt Mine on Lake Huron in Goderich, Ontario. The crew is responsible for a complete re-roof and re-deck on an 8 square roof 200 feet in the air. The existing roof is EPDM. The crew is replacing it with a mod bit Colply system. The project was completed in mid September, 2019.

Goderich is the world’s largest underground salt mine. Located 1,800 feet under Lake Huron, it is as deep as Toronto’s CN Tower is tall. The rock salt produced here helps keep people safe as it is used to melt snow on the roads in winter. Some is packaged for distribution and sale at retailers in North America. It is also sold in bulk plastics, detergent and disinfectant manufacturers.

Goderich mine has been operating since 1959.
