In preparation for the big game this weekend we’d like to do a quick throwback to this project Flynn Kansas City worked on.
The crew worked three stories high amid wind and weather to install the oval copper roof of this practice facility that was designed to look like a football. The compound radius roof is constructed of 16-ounce copper fl at-seam panels and surrounded by 1/8-inch anodized aluminum alloy plate panels around the roof’s perimeter. The rooftop is also embedded with six pairs of rectangular skylights that simulate the football’s laces and provide daylight. It sits above a tall airy atrium made of curtain wall and steel that features player memorabilia and a players’ lounge.
Great work team, and for everyone working out of Kansas City, good luck this weekend!
